Review: Tyrant (King #2) by T.M. Frazier

Thursday, January 5

My rating:
2 Stars…

What I loved:
The writing & editing were good, and the story had good continuity.

♥Preppy♥ Srsly you guys. Preppy is the balls.

What I didn’t love:

I like gritty romance as much as the next girl, but there's something to be said for restraint. I love a gritty, dark, violent story that ebbs and flows, so when the hero eventually hulks out (because I mean, he wouldn't be the hero of a gritty story if he didn't hulk out) it's all the more dramatic.

This story had so much violence, and pushed so many boundaries that when King finally hulks out, it just feels... flat. Meh. What else you got, big boy?

Also, even when I'm reading dark & gritty, there's a line. No cruelty to animals, no anal rape, no attempted abortions by knife. This story has 2 of the 3.

I'm giving this 2 stars instead of the massive DNF it would normally get, because I'm enjoying how Ms Frazier is developing her characters, and I really think she could take this series good places with Bear. Really excited for his story!
