Review: Mystery Man (Dream Man #1) by Kristen Ashley

My rating:

Night time is the right time...

Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He's hot, he's sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it's a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he's the one, she just can't turn him away...

Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She's gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver's lethal underground scene, Hawk's protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk's Alpha attitude in the daylight, she's not so sure he's the one anymore....

DNF @ 50% due to gag factor, vapid heroine, golden vagina in full effect, and overall boredom.

What I loved:

As with the rest of this series, I loved the cover art.
Tack & Mitch seem like they're going to make interesting heroes... looking forward to their stories!!

What I didn’t love:

Stopped reading the third time the heroine (and I use that term loosely) referred to her own father as 'hot.' In hindsight, I should have stopped when I realised this ho let a guy break into her house and bang her for 18 months without knowing his name.

Jesus, Gwen: FYI, calling yourself a slut and an idiot and then changing exactly nothing about your behaviour doesn't make you cute or self-deprecating. You are not relateable because you run yourself down - you are unrelateable because no woman I know is as dumb as you. And no woman that is not a prostitute lets strangers have sex with her. for. years. I'm really glad I know that Tack and Mitch both get a (hopefully) better woman, so they can thank KA for writing them dodging the loose, dumb, selfish bullet that is Gwendolyn.

Hawk Delgado is a stalker, and a pervert. Who gives a shit if he's hot - he's still a stalker and a pervert and hot guys can be serial killers too, ya know?

I can't recommend this one to anyone I know, so I won't recommend it on here either. If you liked it - good for you, but I. No. Just, no.
