An unexpected affair leads to mind-blowing harmony in this Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.
Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.
Wow. This was so not the book for me.
*I'm currently doing a 7-day challenge: I must finish every book I start. My timing is bloody horrendous - any other time I would have DNF'd this at page 40.*
- Insta-lust. Like, I'm pretty sure the H loves Jess because she has an amazing body and that's all. Jess loves him right back because he opened a door for her.
- This insight from the H:
"I could tell she was one of those ridiculously gorgeous Southern blondes."
He couldn't tell that, he could see it because she was right there. But it sums up his depth of character and level of perception fairly well. Dude is a douche.
- This isn't romance, it's kids mistaking good sex for love.
- I don't like heroines that call other women sluts, and I know - I'm like a broken record on that one. So I was destined to despise this heroine from the beginning. Slut and whore are big in her vocab.
I loved AG's Fallen Too Far, but had no intention of reading 3 books about that one couple. So, I picked this series up... I expected a story of Jess and Jason's redemption as characters. Jess, especially, was villianised in the other books I've read from this series. But there was no redemption to be had.
