Review: Creed (Unfinished Heroes #2) by Kristen Ashley

What I loved:

Way too young, eleven year old Tucker Creed and his six year old neighbor, Sylvie Bissenette, find they have something awful in common. Creed then decides he’s going to do everything in his limited power to shield his Sylvie from her ordeal. So he does and Creed and Sylvie form a bond that grows and blossoms with their ages.

They plot to leave their lives behind, the town they live in that will hold them down and the histories they share that, unless they break free, will bury them. Sylvie goes to their special place, Creed never shows and she doesn’t see him again until it’s too late.

With Creed gone, Sylvie is forced to endure a nightmare and do the unspeakable to end it. To deal, she develops a hard shell with sharp edges that very few can break through. So when Creed again finds his Sylvie, he discovers the girl he loved is locked away and he has to find his way back into her heart without getting shredded in the process.

description

My all time favourite Kristen Ashley novel. I could not love it any harder!

Sylvie. She was prickly, strong, independent, and broken... but never a shrew, or a harpy, or a blatant bitch. She had so much going for her - I just adored her. And her career path!
Creed. How deeply these two loved each other, and how much pain they endured to get to where they are now. I desperately needed them to get their HEA!
The plot, in general. I soaked up every word.
I loved every peripheral character because KA painted them all so well. She took the time to develop everyone, so as a reader I actually felt things for all the characters. Even the asshole ones. And there were definitely those.
It complemented the Unfinished Hero series perfectly. This is one of my favourite KA series - up there with Chaos, for sure. Creed was no knight in shining armour, but he redeemed himself. He made us love him!
The writing. I have issues with some of the phrases KA uses through a lot of her books. She didn't use them as much in Creed, and I appreciated that so much.

Nope. Loved it all.

For people who ask What do people see in Kristen Ashley's books? This. This is the ultimate KA. Creed & Sylvie are the ultimate contemporary romance couple for me. I adored everything about this book, and to this day I soak up any cameo appearance Creed & Sylvie make in other KA books.
